Go Texan• HLSR scholarship application is due Monday, February 5th. Please see Mrs. Powers for help with submission. You MUST apply for this particular scholarship in order to be considered for the Shelby County Go Texan scholarship.
Panola• Application for admissions to Panola College for Fall 2018 has opened. Seniors wishing to attend Panola College after graduation need to apply ASAP. **If you are already a PANOLA dual credit student, you do not need to re-apply. See Mrs. Metcalf for assistance!
SFA• Any senior attending SFA next year, this is a reminder that the SFA general scholarship application MUST be submitted by February 1st in order to be considered for the Bake Scholarship, or any others that SFA will offer.
• The Shelby County Cruiser Scholarship is now available!!! The deadline for submission is March 1st!!!!
ACT Test InformationTHS will be a test site for the April 14th ACT. Please encourage students (juniors in particular) to sign up. It is an online registration at www.actstudent.org . They do need to include the writing portion of the test if this is their first time to take it. Also, if you are aware of a student with financial need, I have a limited number of fee waivers available. The deadline to register is March 9th and cost is $62.50.
TranscriptsIf a senior needs a transcript, please pick up a "transcript request form" in the rack across form Mrs. Metcalf's office. Complete the form and return to the folder on her office door. This will make the process more efficient!
Announcements• Sophomore and Juniors interested in applying to be part of the ETREYS leadership camp hosted by Deep East Texas Electric Co-op, please see Mrs. Metcalf for an application. If selected you will get to attend a week long camp on the campus of ETBU. There will be fun activities and nationally recognized speakers throughout the week!
• Any student or teacher wishing to participate in SFA’s “Live Like a Lumberjack” please sign up outside of Mrs. Metcalf’s door. Starting at 2:00pm on February 28th, teachers and students are invited to take part in a campus tour, an exciting academic experience, meal in the SFA Dinning Hall and a basketball game at 7:30pm that will have them on their feet and cheering for the SFA Lumberjacks. (Meal in the Dining Hall & SFA Game Free of Charge) Let’s pack the SFA campus with black and gold!
Texas Farm BureauThe Texas Farm Bureau scholarship applications have opened. There are multiple opportunities available at the website, http://texasfarmbureau.org/youth/youth-opportunities/ . The deadline is March 1, 2018. All applications must be submitted online.
Texas Farm Credit, Burger King Scholars and The Taylor Funeral Home scholarship. Be sure to get your application ASAP!
